Ha! I half expect to see a herd of sauropods come galumping through here. Never mind, though, I see dinosaurs everywhere.
I love this scene. My cousin is living in SLC right now; I have to go visit him next summer just so that I can go to Zion. It looks beyond stunning.

"... to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." ~Issac Newton
Would be a nice background for some paleoart, that 's true. Just need to convert those grasses to ferns or somesuch.
If you're coming out this way, drop by and say hello while you're in the neighborhood!
Damn. This is some nice photography, Rob. I notice that you're using the rule of 3rds, or whatever that is where you divide the image into 9 squares, with intersections being focal points and the lines being the horizon and such. This is proof that it works. I think it's fine as-is, but I wonder what it would look like if you photoshopped a sharper image of the moon over the existing one. I don't feel it's really necessary, though. Keep snappin this shit, man.
If you don't mind I'll use it as a reference. And yeah, I'll let you know when I'm down around UT. It definitely won't be until next summer just because I have an internship to do over winter break and will be in classes until next May. A-whahoo!

Thanks! I try to keep things as authentic as possible, so while I'm sure a larger moon image would add some nice detail, I feel that leaving it as-is helps reinforce the image.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
