California Condor, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona.
I just love the atmosphere in this. Compositionally I think it might have been better to have the condor framed a little bit higher... In doing that the viewer can also figure out what the cliff walls are doing below...in short just move the camera view down a bit hope that makes sense! Looks like a great place to visit, Nicely captured - Mike

Ah, now there's a rare and spectacular sight! I love the low clouds/fog around this area. I think *yenom had a good suggestion up above. There's a lot of dead space at the top of the photo that could be re-arranged (assuming you could retake it).
It is so rare that I am around up there during a storm that scenes like this automatically call to me. Nice capture.
I agree. After taking the shot, I reviewed it, and while I liked the mist and craggy cliff feel, I felt there was something "off" about it, but couldn't place my finger on it. You did. In mitigation, I have to say it was a difficult shot to take; my camera is auto-focus, and with the mist it wasn't wanting to focus on the pinnacle 9/10 of the time. Hopefully this won't be the last time fog is on the cliffs though, so I can frame things up a bit better.
I agree with *yenom as well. I was hurried taking the shot, what with the capricious mists and the swiftness of the bird, plus some focus problems. I think that if I take a bit more time, and don't stress about it, the next time there's fog in the area I could be able to retake this and get a slightly better shot.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!

If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't follow. I'd be at the bottom to catch them when they fall.
